Like to knit or crochet?  The American Heart Association is looking for knitted or crocheted little RED hats for babies born in February 2018.  The Little Hats, Big Hearts program hopes to raise awareness of congenital heart defects and to empower moms to live heart healthy lives.  WIGL will be collecting hats for distribution locally at United Memorial Medical Center. Patterns are available from the American Heart Association website.  The baby hats can be dropped off after Jan 1, 2018 at either church.  Any questions, call Joan Price (585) 762-9356.

The WIGL ladies are sponsoring a workshop on Saturday, January 27th from 10AM to Noon in the E. Pembroke Hall to make Little Dresses for Africa.  All ladies interested in assisting to cut, iron, or sew the little dresses are encouraged to attend. WIGL is looking for donations of the following items:

1-1 1/4 yds of 44-45″ cotton material

new or unused pillowcases

lace or trims for dresses, 1/4 or 1/2″ elastic

Bins will be in the back of each church for these donations. Please call Linda Nalbach at 585-762-9199 by January 20th if you plan to volunteer or if you have any questions.

The prayer shawls and baptismal blankets that Father Dan will bless at Mass this month were made with love and prayer by our WIGL group. The WIGL group consists of women of the parish of all ages who meet once a month. The prayer shawls and baptismal blankets are either knitted or crocheted. We give a baptismal blanket to a newly baptized child of the parish at the time of baptism. The prayer shawls are given to any person who may have suffered a loss or is dealing with illness. The symbol of the shawl is that when the person uses the shawl they are wrapped in the prayers of the group. If you know of someone who may be in need of a shawl and prayers, please call Nancy at (716) 474-2992. Referrals are kept confidential.
