This Catholic practice is rooted in the representation of the face of Christ said to have been left on the towel or veil used by a holy woman, Veronica. Members make reparation for the blasphemies hurled at Christ. Beginning on Thursday, July 7th, there will be a weekly litany to the Holy Face of Jesus for anyone that wishes to stay after the 8AM Mass in East Pembroke. There are pamphlets available in the back of church that explain more about this devotion. The litany is done for the reparation of blasphemy and change of heart of people not honoring the Holy Face of Christ and the Eucharist.
